About Me

I am a writer, editor, and photographer living in south Louisiana. I worked in communications at the National Cancer Institute from 1999 until 2025. I wrote and edited new content for NCI's newsletter, research blog, and main website, Cancer.gov. I also managed content curation for NCI’s website and email newsletters.

I have a master’s degree in English/creative writing and a bachelor’s degree in history from Northern Michigan University. Before joining NCI, I led a communications marketing team for the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and worked as a technical editor-writer at the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Wetlands Research Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.
